Further adventures with the Committee for Reciprocity and Care
Queridos vecinos,
Today we created mockups of many of the materials, collateral, for a Communal Heirlooms workshop. The kind you would be invited to when your neighborhood receives a summons. We drew from examples of previous Possibility Hour workshops and collateral. We tried to create the sense that you’re receiving an exciting and inspiring package, that is full of anticipation and visually intriguing.
This is a rough draft still. We are curious to see if it is possible to get all the material from one sheet of paper, either A0 or A1. It is folded inside the envelope or rolled and you can cut it and assemble it. Unlike American paper sizes, the proportions of the A-size sheets elegantly nest inside each other.
Hoy creamos maquetas de muchos de los materiales para un taller de Reliquias Comunitarias. Del tipo al que te invitarían si tu vecindario recibiera una convocatoria. Nos inspiramos en ejemplos de talleres y materiales anteriores de la Hora de las Posibilidades. Buscamos crear la sensación de recibir un paquete emocionante e inspirador, lleno de expectativa y visualmente atractivo.
Este es todavía un borrador. Nos interesa saber si es posible incluir todo el material en una sola hoja de papel, ya sea A0 o A1. Se dobla dentro del sobre o se enrolla, y se puede cortar y ensamblar. A diferencia de los tamaños de papel estadounidenses, las proporciones de las hojas tamaño A encajan elegantemente unas dentro de otras.

Postcard Summons - this would arrive in advance of everything else, inviting participants. / Postal de invitación - se enviará antes que todo lo demás, invitando a los participantes.
Letter - written by previous CAT members describing their experience and what to expect. / Carta - escrita por antiguos miembros del CAT describiendo su experiencia y qué esperar.
Cloud Capital diagram - there may be more of these explanatory diagrams included to help provide conceptual foundation to the project and express the guiding principles of the CRC. / Diagrama de Cloud Capital - se pueden incluir más diagramas explicativos para proporcionar una base conceptual al proyecto y expresar los principios rectores del CRC.
Inspiration Cards - we wrote about these last week. We have updated their design to be more cohesive visually. We still need to make them more functional so participants easily see how the cards demark the creative boundary of the project. It is quite vast, the possible types of communal heirlooms, so some visual and inspirational aid seems critical. At least a few examples. / Tarjetas de inspiración - hablamos de ellas la semana pasada. Hemos actualizado su diseño para que sean visualmente más coherentes. Aún necesitamos mejorar su funcionalidad para que los participantes comprendan fácilmente cómo delimitan el ámbito creativo del proyecto. Criteria Checklist - this is a list of criteria from Less is More and other foundational resources. Participants can use these cards to aid in brainstorming as well as prioritizing and evaluating their creations. / Lista de criterios - esta lista incluye criterios de Less is More y otros recursos fundamentales. Worksheet to capture their initial ideas - a simple place to write without judgement and capture what comes up. Worksheet to capture the story of the idea. This can be a functional description, a poem, a song, whatever feels appropriate to capture the idea in further detail. / Hoja de trabajo para plasmar la historia de la idea. Puede ser una descripción funcional, un poema, una canción, o cualquier cosa que parezca apropiada para plasmar la idea con más detalle.
Worksheet to capture four scenes of the idea. Some call this a storyboard. In a way it is. It is four moments of our experiencing the idea. How is the communal heirloom created, initiated, a new ritual, and maintained for the next generation. / Hoja de trabajo para plasmar cuatro escenas de la idea. Algunos lo llaman guion gráfico. Not pictured - I want to make a little zine for the Inspiration Cards. There is a really easy one-page way to make them. I think it would be a nice community project to collect inspirations and publish this zine of them. / No se muestra en la imagen: quiero hacer un pequeño fanzine para las Tarjetas de Inspiración. Thanks for being here. It’s coming along. Bit by bit. This daily thinking in public has been cathartic. To be clear, I don’t plan these posts in advance. I started writing this post this morning with a vague idea of creating some mockups. It was a lot harder than I expected and I’ve just blown past my typical deadline to post. Ah well. Constraints are good.

Empecé a escribir esta esta mañana con la vaga idea de crear algunos bocetos. Fue mucho más difícil de lo que esperaba y se me pasó la fecha límite habitual. En fin. Las limitaciones son buenas.
